While it is graphically impressive, the gunplay remains state of the art, and there are some welcome but all-too-brief attempts to tread new ground, Modern Warfare 2's campaign relies too much on echoing the victories of Call of Dutys past rather than establishing its own triumphs.

Latest Critic Reviews\n\n A somewhat droll campaign will greet players of Modern Warfare II. It's a short bombastic romp with some fun gunplay moments and fantastic graphics. The multiplayer, however, is a miss as it is no longer a properly combined entity and the lack of replayability is disappointing.

Call of Duty: Black Ops\n\n We previously ranked Black Ops' campaign as Call of Duty's best, and we stand by it today. Black Ops' multiplayer is just as iconic and some of the maps, including Firing Range and Nuketown, are still favorites in 2024 as they have been brought forward multiple times.
